BBB of Los Angeles and Silicon Valley and OwnerListens are proud to present BBB now - a fast, mobile, trusted solution for text and instant messaging between businesses and customers.

For more than 100 years, Better Business Bureau (BBB) has been helping people find businesses, brands and charities they can trust. BBB’s mission is to foster honest and responsive relationships between businesses and consumers, instilling consumer confidence and advancing a trustworthy marketplace for all.

Better Business Bureau of Los Angeles & Silicon Valley serves the counties of Los Angeles, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. Located in the heart of California’s innovation hubs, its leadership could not miss the profound change in communications brought on by the mobile revolution. They looked for a solution that addressed this change and served the needs of both businesses and consumers.

OwnerListens was the perfect match.

OwnerListens was founded in Silicon Valley, in 2011, by serial entrepreneurs and small business owners to address the big change in customer preferences: from emails and calls, to texting and instant messaging. Since its founding it has helped more than 13,000 businesses connect with their customers in a text friendly, mobile optimized way without requiring businesses to learn how to use new software, retrain employees, or break the bank.

Adi Bittan started OwnerListens with longtime friend Oren Dobronsky after helping him at his restaurant and recognizing the dire need for a better customer communications tool to suit the modern, smartphone enabled consumer.

In addition to running OwnerListens, Adi mentors entrepreneurs at StartX, a Stanford affiliated startup accelerator; and at UpWest Labs, an accelerator for Israel-affiliated entrepreneurs. She is also on the leadership team of the SFO-TLV Direct Flight Initiative.

Adi holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an LL.B & LL.M (cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to her time at Stanford, Adi was a Captain in the Israel Defense Forces and an attorney for the Israeli government's top planning commission, appearing in Parliament and handling Supreme Court cases. After graduating from Stanford, Adi founded a financial services startup and worked at Peter Thiel's Clarium Capital.

Niv has been writing software for more than a decade and holds a Communications System Engineering degree from Ben Gurion University. His passion is writing application aimed at non-technical people - communicating with users and understanding how to make things easier for them. Prior to OwnerListens, Niv was a senior developer at NY based SharedBook, provider of customized and personalized digital books.

When Niv heard about OwnerListens, a slick communication platform for all business owners and consumers, he immediately knew it was the perfect fit and joined as CTO.

Niv lives with his wife and 4 wonderful kids, and plays the Didgeridoo, a wind instrument developed by indigenous Australians.

Eli began his career as a corporate attorney in Israel, representing startups and investors for over four years. After relocating to sunny California in 2014, Eli was a principal at a small venture fund in San Francisco. Of the hundreds of startups he screened, he was taken with one in particular called OwnerListens. Soon after, he joined as the company’s junior product manager and is currently Head of Product.

Eli lives with his wife and daughter in San Jose, and plays the piano in his free time.

Steve McFarland is President and CEO of Better Business Bureau serving Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey counties. He serves on BBB’s national board of directors.

Steve believes marketplace trust starts with responsive businesses. When he heard about OwnerListens he saw a perfect fit for BBB. So, he teamed up with Adi and Oren to develop BBB now.

Before BBB, Steve was a senior executive at Deloitte, where he led the firm’s primary intelligence practice. He also directed a myriad of global financial fraud investigations with a special emphasis on Middle Eastern affairs.

Steve has a BS in business from USC where he was an All-American swimmer and also played varsity water polo. Steve is a licensed Private Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Auditor and Registered Tax Preparer. He holds two patents in fluorochemistry.

When he’s not in the office or out in the community spreading the gospel about marketplace trust, Steve is either playing ice hockey, fishing, cheering for his San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks, USC Trojans or camping with family.

Born in Guanajuato, Mexico but raised in the Bay Area, Eddie Parra’s first experience with the business world was enrolling in the Academy of Business and Finance at Oak Grove High School.

As an Accredited Business Manager, Eddie personally caters to the needs and questions of BBB Accredited Businesses. As a member of the BBB now team, Eddie help businesses get the most from this great messaging tool. He doesn’t mind the title of Concierge because, well, that’s what he is.

Eddie enjoys listening to Eartha Kitt, Blondie and Elvis. On his off days, you might also catch him walking his dogs and best friends, Papi and Tlacuatche or enjoying a competitive but friendly video game session with his friends.

Trisha is a member of the BBB now team, where she handles requests from subscribing businesses and helps them get the most from the tool.

Trisha’s official title is Accredited Business Manager at Better Business Bureau, serving as a personal concierge to Accredited Businesses. Whatever they need, Trisha is always on top of it! Having Trisha on your team is one of the great benefits of BBB accreditation.

Most of Trisha’s career has been in management and customer service. She holds a tax preparer license from the California Tax Education Council (CTEC) and continues to hone her skills and experience.

Like many of the BBB now team, Trisha loves to escape to the beautiful outdoors as much as possible, hiking and exploring nature.
